It’s the season for vacations and camping and while dental
emergencies are rare, you will be grateful you planned ahead if you have
one. You might also find that some of
your dental items can be useful in other ways.
Toothbrushes and Paste:
Dental Use – Hopefully everyone will be brushing their teeth
regularly, even on vacation.
Alternate Use - White toothpaste can be used to relieve
insect bites and stings and an extra toothbrush can always be used to clean
something unexpected.
Sugarless Gum
Dental Use – Use the gum to fill the space where a filling
has been lost. It protects the fragile tooth
and insulates the nerve. It can also be
used to cushion a sharp area if a tooth breaks.
Alternate Use – Gum is commonly used to temporary fix leaks
and plug holes, even in cars.
Dental Floss
Dental Use – Regular flossing is important, but it can be
especially helpful if you get something stuck between your teeth or under your
gums.
Alternate Use – You can sew with it, tie things, hang
things, go fishing, fix loose parts, make crafts, use it as a shoe lace or hair
tie, clean tight places, and more.
Enjoy Your Vacation!
